Savonet Museum
With the aid of Dutch government funds Carmabi is currently realizing a new museum of cultural and natural history. The historical plantation complex of Savonet will be transformed into an experience for the entire family. The stories of the lives of former inhabitants of this plantation through history form the backbone of a journey through time. Savonet is also the portal to the Christoffelpark, and therefore the unique principles of Island ecology and the flora and fauna of the park will be highlighted in the former storehouse.
The Savonet museum will be housed in the historical plantation complex of Savonet.
The golden thread through the museum is the concept of “inter-dependence”, the dependence of humans on nature as well as on each other.
The museum will be open to the public in February 2010 and will soon have it's own dedicated website!
