Financial Officer (20–40 hours/week)

Location: Piscadera Bay, Curaçao

Are you passionate about finance and ready to contribute to a meaningful cause? The Carmabi Foundation is looking for a committed and organized Financial Officer to strengthen our Finance Department.

At Carmabi, we work to protect Curaçao’s natural environment, conduct scientific research, and provide environmental education to inspire future generations. As part of our team, you’ll play a key role in supporting our mission through sound financial management.

What you’ll do:

You will support the Financial Controller and be responsible for various financial and administrative tasks, including:

  • Recording financial transactions: accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash, bank, and journal entries
  • Invoicing visiting scientists and other Carmabi clients
  • Assisting with financial data analysis and management: including liquidity, debtors, creditors, forecasting and planning
  • Supporting monthly financial reporting for the Board of Directors and managers
  • Assisting with asset management and payroll administration
  • Ensuring timely salary payments and proper remittance of taxes and social premiums
  • Processing bank payments
  • Contributing to internal control procedures
  • Replacing the Financial Controller during absences for tasks within your scope
  • Supporting project administration and general office tasks

Who you are:

  • You hold an MBO-level diploma in finance or administration
  • You have experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of Odoo is an advantage
  • You are comfortable using standard IT tools and software packages
  • You have a valid driver’s license and access to a car
  • You speak English, Dutch, and Papiamentu
  • You have strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
