Marine Park Ranger (M/F)
Full-time | 40 hours per week

Do you love the ocean, nature, and outdoor work? Do you want to contribute to protecting Curaçao’s unique marine ecosystems? The Carmabi Foundation is looking for a dedicated Marine Park Ranger to join our Marine Parks Department.
Carmabi (Caribbean Research and Management of Biodiversity) is the largest nature conservation organization in Curaçao. We manage various terrestrial and marine parks, conduct scientific research, provide education, and raise environmental awareness. With over 50 employees and seven departments, Carmabi is at the heart of sustainable development and conservation on the island.
What you’ll do:
- Monitor and enforce park regulations, support nature conservation, and ensure safety in the Marine Park
- Participate in weekly planning, patrols, visitor guidance, and park maintenance
- Assist in the protection and upkeep of infrastructure and natural habitats
- Work closely with visitors, providing guidance and information about the park
- Collaborate with other parks when needed (e.g., the Mangrove Park in Otrobanda)
- Report directly to the Head of the Marine Parks Department
Requirements:
- Minimum vocational (SBO-level) education
- In possession of a valid Category B driver’s license

In possession of or willing to obtain:
- First Aid certificate (EHBO)
- Boating license (Beroepsvaarbewijs)
- Diving certificate
- Basic Safety Training certificate
- VHF Radio certificate
- Strong command of Papiamentu, English, Dutch, and Spanish
- Willingness to follow additional training (e.g., BavPol) if required
Skills and qualities:
- Comfortable working at sea and handling boats
- Knowledge of marine laws and regulations, especially those relevant to marine parks
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Physically fit and passionate about working in nature
- Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
- Familiar with MS Office (especially Word and Excel)
