About Carmabi
Carmabi was established in 1955 and has since grown into Curaçao's leading organization for biodiversity research, environmental education, and park management. Our mission is to protect and conserve the island’s unique natural heritage while inspiring sustainable practices through science and education.
Core Activities
- Scientific Research: Conducting marine and terrestrial studies to advance knowledge about Curaçao’s ecosystems.
- Park Management: Overseeing six national parks, including Christoffel National Park and Curaçao Marine Park, to preserve the island’s biodiversity.
- Environmental Education: Developing programs for schools and communities to foster awareness and action for nature conservation.
- Conservation Projects: Implementing initiatives to protect coral reefs, restore mangroves, and monitor invasive species.
